Laughter yoga helps people de-stress by bringing joy and laughter…even if you have to fake it.
Kellie Bellies Laughter is a light-hearted laughter yoga exercise program, based in Wollongong NSW, where you don’t even need to change out of your regular clothes. In a group setting, participants engage in eye contact and childlike playfulness, which naturally evolves into genuine, contagious laughter.
Laughter Yoga, introduced in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria, a family physician from Mumbai, India, combines laughter with yoga breathing techniques. This combination floods the body and brain with oxygen, releases endorphins, and ultimately results in a happier, more energetic, and healthier you.
This global laughter exercise program incorporates three key elements:
1) Laughter and playfulness, 2) Yogic breathwork, and 3) Mindfulness meditation.
However, we’ve added our unique Kellie Bellies twist to enhance the experience.

So the idea behind combining laughter with yoga breathing is rooted in science: the body cannot tell the difference between fake and genuine laughter. As a result, you’ll enjoy the same health benefits whether your laughter is real or simulated. Sometimes, just pretending can be good for you!
